Follow your business dreams - YOUR WAY!

It’s funny, when you look at how much young babies and children are praised, you’d think there wouldn’t be any shortage of successful adults.
Well done Mandy, you held your bottle all by yourself! Yay, Peter, you pooped in your potty like a big boy!! Sandra can blow her own nose, isn’t she the smartest?
The praise is endless. And so it should be. We want to nurture and encourage our children to be self sufficient and capable human beings.
But then it stops.
Just dead in your tracks - stops.
All of a sudden it’s, you won’t get your allowance until you clean your room Mary! I’m so disappointed in you Frank, I can't believe you got a D in maths - how will you ever get into a decent university with grades like that? Why are you so caught up in starting this business idea Melissa, you have responsibilities and bills to pay - can’t you just get a normal job like everybody else and just be happy with that?
And just like that aspiring young adults are taught the rules of the rat race.
The Golden Rules - that ones that have trained you to think a certain way about your business.
The ones that are unconsciously sabotaging your success.
The ones that no longer apply to who you are now, in this moment - a business woman!
If you find you’re struggling to get your business to that next level of success, it might be time to unlearn some of the things your parents and elders taught you when you were growing up.
If you feel like you have to hustle hard and work 16 hour days just to feel worthy of your success, then maybe it’s time to re-evaluate what you learnt about success from a young age.
If you’re scared of taking strategic risks in your business to help it grow, maybe you should look at the fear that was instilled in you years ago.
Do any of these sound familiar:
Money doesn’t grow on trees.
You have to get good grades so that you can go to college, get a degree and get a good, stable job.
You have to work hard to make money.
Don’t leave your job now, even if you do hate it - you’ve got bills to pay!
Why are you spending all this money on taking courses and buying supplies? You should be saving it for a rainy day.
Do you remember what happened to Susie after she started that online business? Look at her now, broke and stressed all the time! You wouldn’t want that would you?
Stop. Just STOP!!
These golden rules were put into place to help keep young adults on the preferred and safe path. But in an age where small business owners and entrepreneurs are starting to make a bigger impact and a bigger paycheck then those on the corporate path - the golden rules are doing nothing more than holding small business owners back from pursuing and achieving their dreams!
So let’s break the golden rules by making some of our own rules for success!
You actually get to choose the way you run your life and business!
You don't have to follow anyone else's rules on how to live your life OR how to run your business
If something gets you excited every morning when you wake up - find a way to make it work!
A big part of running a successful business is actually making mistakes and failing - so learn from your mistakes and fail forward and fail fast - but never be afraid to make those mistakes.
Take educated and researched risks. No one can predict 100% that something will work for your business - so do the research and make an educated decision based on possibility rather than predictability.
Never stop learning!! Take courses and programs to make you a stronger business woman and better person - the two are intertwined so you may as well work on both and reap the benefits in life AND business.
If you fall - GET BACK UP and try again - never give up.
Money CAN be made with ease if you develop your skills, create desired offers and appreciate how valuable your time is!!
You can have it ALL! A successful business, a happy family and some time out for you too - you just need to be willing to learn how to balance the 3 from those who have done it before you.
If you’re ready to take your business next level, re-write the rules you have used to govern your life. Unlearn the old, golden rules and create your own - pave your way to success on your own terms!
